The European Union (EU) has established ambitious goals to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. However, for resource and energy-intensive industries like steel, iron, and aluminum production, the transition to clean energy represents a significant transformation in their industrial processes.
To address this challenge, three innovation projects funded by the EU – INITIATE, RETROFEED, and REVamp – will showcase their solutions for reducing environmental impact and promoting circularity in the metal-making industry. This online workshop, scheduled for September 26, 2023, from 10:30 to 12:30 CET, will feature presentations from these projects, followed by a panel discussion on synergies, replication potential, and technology adoption within the sector.
